Gains or Losses in UK Society—
A Look at the Legalising of Marijuana Question

Marijuana and UK flag

Debate it, tweet on it, write books on it, set up petitions for and against it, print newspaper articles about it and generally flood the communication lines via TV, Radio or the newspaper/magazine industry on it but you cannot change the effects this drug has on the human brain, the rest of the body, the mind and personality traits. It doesn’t matter how old the user is or how healthy otherwise. Marijuana has the capacity to maim the brain, muddle the mind and eventually kill off an individual’s imagination and creativity the more it is used.

The dangled carrot to legalise it in the UK is the possible and expected monetary pay off that a legal cannabis market worth up to £6.8bn to the economy annually would realise. Potentially netting between £750m and £1.05bn in tax revenues and reduced criminal justice costs, (The Independent newspaper, journalist Katie Foster in November of 2016) government ministers and MPs have a hard job in deciding which way to go on this. There is a moral decision to be made as well as a financial one.

First lauded by the fab four (The Beatles pop group) in 1964 after meeting up with Bob Dylan (folk singer extraordinaire) who, according to “The Independent Drug Monitoring Unit”, gave them their first smoke, it may well be they have a lot to answer for but individual users have more.

What is it that makes someone want the highs whilst ignoring very real lows that come with marijuana use? Bleary-eyed, mind muddled and weary with little if any responsibility for their actions at work such a workforce is definitely not in the remit most employers want as regards their employees. The same may apply to the family unit as well.

It seems to me that if life is so awful one can’t enjoy it without resorting to marijuana something is wrong and change is needed. Socially we already direct our youth towards healthy and ethical activities. Hundreds and thousands of children and the nations teenage youth already enjoy reaping wonderful rewards in thousands of different activities. Lets get the other millions of children we have in on the act too.

Having a purpose in life is a powerful motivation for success.

For those who fall by the wayside, the Narconon Rehab programme could bring them back from the brink of misery and death within just a few months. Having a purpose in life is part of an individual’s rehabilitation, either one lost and re-established or new one’s gained is all part and parcel of the programme. It is the individual himself that makes the changes to have and experience a new life. Give all this some thought and act. Get into the Narconon program if it applies to you. If it applies to someone you know send them the link to the Narconon Programme. Life awaits you anew.
